About Us
We are here to help you succeed
Located on the west coast of Ireland, with the sea to the south, the wilds of Connemara to the west and the vibrant city of Galway to the East, our small team enjoy practicing high standard GP Veterinary at a comfortable pace. Our main Clinic is based in Barna, just 3km west of the sea-side village of Salthill and 5km west of the bustling city of Galway on the coast in the West of Ireland. We are a Small Animal Practice, started in 2008, and have a suburban but village-based feel due to our location in Barna and are just a 2-minute walk to the pier which means you can eat your lunch on the pier wall overlooking Galway Bay! Our branch practice is based in Moycullen, just 10 minutes away on Clifden road west of Galway City. Moycullen is a more rural village than Barna with country surroundings and easy access to Connemara. Part of the appeal of Galway is that we are the doorsteps of both a vibrant City with a very active social and arts scene and Connemara with the solitude and outdoor appeal that this landscape brings.
We practice good well rounded GP Veterinary to a high standard, always doing our best for the pet and offering practical options for the client. As we are a small practice, we build strong client relationships and are as much a people practice as we are a pet practice. Chatting is an important part of our day so much so that we have 20-minute appointments! We are keen to develop and foster good all-rounder skills in our vets and nurses so that we have a competent and confident veterinary team. We encourage CPD and are happy to develop your experience in your chosen area of interest by way of training or starting a Certificate if you choose to do so. There is also plenty of opportunity for progression
within the practice. As a practice, we always learn new things from a new staff member and are in the mindset of regularly reviewing protocols and ways of work to ensure we keep up with our evolving profession. Our amazing team currently consists of 3 vets, 4 nurses and a practice manager. We have digital x-ray, ultrasound, IDEXX blood machines and Mindray monitors. We have dedicated staff in both clinics and have a strong team mindset. We pride ourselves on our client relationships and our clinical standards and offer a high standard of care to our patients. Being village based, our pace is slower than that of city practices, which encourages in-depth work-up of cases and time to develop relationships with clients.
