We are looking for experienced Registered Veterinary Surgeons to join our team of highly qualified veterinarians and nurses at our clinics located in Dublin and Meath, Ireland.
Aquiena Village Vets, we have a Clinical Support Team and a Surgical Mentor who can provide the necessary training.
Our family veterinary clinic is constantly growing due to the fantastic work that our Veterinarians, Nurses and care team do every day. We are looking for amazing people to be part of our team.
Within our teams, we have experienced veterinarians and nurses, including Certificate holders in Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Endoscopy, ECC and Anaesthesia. We operate to a very high standard of Veterinary Medicine and our clinic is fully equipped with excellent surgical, diagnostic and medical equipment.
We are looking for professionals who have a strong desire to work in small animal veterinary clinics, who are highly motivated, hardworking and know how to work well in a team.

We do not offer services outside of office hours on weekdays or weekends.
Purpose of the position
Carry out primary responsibilities as a veterinary surgeon, in accordance with the standards and values upheld by Village Vets and the Veterinary Council of Ireland, contributing to the highest quality of animal care, excellent employee relations and customer service. Also, carry out secondary responsibilities to assist in the efficient functioning of the veterinary clinic as directed by the Chief Veterinarian or Regional Director.
Main responsibilities:
- Diagnose, treat, and care for all patients according to the standard maintained by Village Vets.
- Investigate and treat cases within the clinic as thoroughly as possible before referring, according to the patient’s needs.
- Taking full responsibility for patients, ensuring that after-hours or post-referral care is adequate and of high quality, and that case transfer is done effectively.
- Keeping medical records up-to-date and accurate.
- Prescribing and dispensing medications correctly and safely, as well as helping to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing relevant estimates and information about diagnoses and treatment plans, allowing for informed treatment decision-making.
- Provide and maintain an exceptional customer experience throughout the clinic and across all mediums (face-to-face, phone, email, social media, website, etc.).
- Promote Pet Health Plans and Animal Insurance to all clients in order to facilitate the highest level of veterinary care.
- Communicate effectively with clinic staff to ensure that patients and clients are treated with the highest level of care and compassion, as per the standard maintained by Village Vets.
- Provide the appropriate veterinary training for all staff in order to assist with best practices.
- Help maintain the daily appearance and operation of the clinic to the standard maintained by Village Vets.
- Ensure that all invoices are priced correctly.
- Maintain membership of the VCI and be familiar with the legislation affecting the practice of veterinary medicine in Ireland.
- Adopt the practice guidelines set out in the VCI Professional Conduct Guide and stay up-to-date with CPD requirements.
- Behave at all times in a manner that inspires confidence in our profession, both for staff, individual clients and the general public.
- Perform any veterinary or administrative tasks that arise during the normal course of the day in the clinic or as directed by the head nurse/head veterinarian.
- Complete all tasks, duties, and procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Be responsible for creating and maintaining an exceptional customer experience across the team.
Administrative tasks:
- Completar cartas de encaminhamento e históricos médicos acompanhando-as.
- Preparar toda a documentação relevante para laboratórios externos.
- Completar passaportes de animais de estimação, quando aplicável.
- Assinar registros de vacinação.
- Completar formulários de reclamação de seguro, quando necessário.
Enquanto estiver no trabalho, todos os funcionários devem cuidar de sua própria saúde e segurança e da de outros que possam ser afetados por seus atos e omissões, e cooperar com as políticas e procedimentos da Village Vets.
Habilidade de locomoção/realocação:
- Dublin: deslocar-se com confiabilidade ou planejar a realocação antes de iniciar o trabalho (necessário)
